28 hand-drawn burst elements
Introducing The Shop's hand-drawn burst vector elements!

These unique bursts have been carefully traced on paper with a Pentel Sign Pen, sometimes using a few guides as a reference, sometimes not.

Most elements are circular, some are contained within other geometrical shapes (pentagon, hexagon, inverted star). Most of the burst elements are centered, some aren't.

After being scanned at 600 ppi, each of the bursts have been cleaned up, and digitized very precisely in Illustrator. Additionally, bitmap TIFF and PNG files were generated.

What's included in your download:
- 28 hand-drawn bursts
- Vector format (Ai CC, Ai CS6, EPS, and PDF) of all bursts on one big artboard
- Vector format (Ai CC, Ai CS6, EPS, and PDF) of all bursts on separated artboards (12"x12")
- Bitmap TIFF files
- PNG files (3600x3600 pixels @ 300 ppi)

Small bonus: all the color palettes have been sourced from mid-century modern adverts and packaging pieces - feel free to re-use them for your own projects.

One more thing: like the grit you see in the preview images? It's generated with my photocopy noise textures volume 02.
Gemstone cutting pattern volume 02
Introducing the gemstone cutting pattern vector elements, volume 02!

Forty-three shapes (43) of gem goodness have been reproduced manually, line per line, from an illustration plate taken from a late 1800s book about gems cutting.

They provide beautiful, and sometimes intricate, line work overlays for photos, but can also be center pieces in their own right. Another application would be hidden as a smaller icon within a bigger composition.

The pack includes three versions of the gems:
- Stroked shapes (ideal to add your own brushes to them)
- Clean compound shapes
- Aged compound shapes

The vector files themselves come in multiple versions:
- Illustrator CC
- Illustrator CS6
- Illustrator CS3
- Illustrator CS
- EPS (CS, single and multiple files)

Each gem also comes in high resolution PNGs (roughly 12"x12" @ 300 dpi):
- Clean
- Aged

Did you know that this pack has a little brother?

Photocopy noise textures volume 02
The Shop is proud to introduce the little brother to its most popular product, the photocopy noise texture pack, volume 02!

Each of the ten (10) original textures were obtained by printing a black sheet through a laser copier of questionable quality, and then mistreating them with various scratching, folding, and rubbing techniques.

After that, the textures were scanned in at 1,200 ppi, slightly adjusted for even lighting in Photoshop, and then converted to 18"x24" @ 300 ppi documents. They are crisp as a winter morning.

Each texture is available in a positive (mostly black), and negative (mostly white) version.

Additionally, I decided to provide each textures as transparent PNGs (ideal to quickly add in a design, and to color them using a color overlay), and bitmap TIFFs (perfect to use in Illustrator for great, detailed texture effects without hogging down your system resources).

Noise and dust textures are perfect to add a subtle depth to your designs. Using them is very simple: just switch your layer's blending mode to "Screen," and play with the opacity slider.

- Ten (10) raster textures of toner noise and dust
- Sized to fit an 18"x24" canvas @ 300 ppi
- Bonus: negative versions
- Bonus: transparent PNG versions (download link included in product archive)
- Bonus: bitmap TIFF format for llustrator

Your Own Road Kickstarter reward poster

Here's the final poster for Your Own Road.

We went with Amorie Modella for the director credit line. It complements the hand lettering element well (same hand written vibe, while keeping the clean structure, rhythms, and alignments of a typeface).

Even though the Kickstarter campaign failed, the movie is a go, which makes me happy.

You can see a lot of process work via my Dribbble account.

The amazing Dustin Schmieding released a new texture pack over at the Go Media Arsenal, called the fractal storm texture pack.

I was lucky enough to get to explore the possibilities offered by the texture set through the design of a poster for a (fake) EDM event. And I'm taking you along the way!

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the tutorial.
